Wireless RF (radio frequency) remote control features maximum operating range 100m. Compared to an infrared (IR) remote control, it allows you to operate the shutter from either direction / angle. It supports unique coding for anti-interference and avoiding wrong operation. 3 operations modes: At W mode, the receiver is active, you can use the transmitter to control the shutter or focus. At O mode, the receiver will be a normal remote switch, and it will not consume any power. At L mode, the receiver will lock the shutter for long exposure.

"Satechi Has Gold on Their Hands and Don't Know It !" 2010-06-15
By Mark Wagner (Aurora, CO USA)

Satechi has created a universal remote for many cameras. I use the Canon Rebel Xsi and I wanted to get a remote for my camera but most remotes seem to operate from only a few feet away. Bummer. I have my little brother's wedding to shoot and while I'm an amature photographer, I was asked if I would cover the wedding for him and his bride to be. But one problem. I gotta be IN the wedding too. So I knew I needed a top notch remote because most Infra Red (IR) remotes only operate at about 15 feet max distance and at this wedding I was aware I would probably be standing 25-35 feet away. That's just too far for most remotes so I decided on a Radio Frequency (RF) remote.

Enter the Satechi WR-C100. This neat little gadget has all the right features. It has a focus button AND a shutter button on the wireless transmitter remote, allowing me to focus manually from camera position if I want and then tripping the shutter from a distance without the camera re-focusing. Nice. There's about a one (1) second time lag between the moment you press the remote's shutter button to the moment the camera takes the picture but it doesn't take long to get the hang of it and I learned to press the shutter one second sooner to get my shot. No biggie.

I really love the battery display on the receiver; it has 5 LED lights to signify how much power is left in the receiver's battery. The only real thing that I don't like about the Satechi WR-C100 was the fact that the advertising didn't do the product justice. It's actually very attractive. It looks like a product made for pros and not us amatures. Shh...don't tell my secret if you get this remote, okay?!

If you have a Canon Xsi or some other Canon product then you should definitely get this way cool gizzmo. Oh yeah, did I mention...it has a WHOPPING 300 foot max range. Wow.

Satechi is the choice for me.

 "Rebel wireless remote" 2010-04-07
By Bobby G. Bristoe (Ellettsville Indiana)
All I can say is it works as advertised. I have had no issues on battery life, and have kept it powered on and opening the shutter of the camera for over an hour. it has a 3 position switch, Remote on, off, continous open shutter. I have used it several times, and am still in the original charge of the battery. for shooting fast pictures of the moon, where any shake is a no no, remote hands off is a must. I use it exclusivly when I have the camera attached to my Celestron C90 Mac. I lock the mirror up on the Canon and the only moving part is the shutter. If this is the kind of hands free shooting you need to do, this item is well worth the money I spent on it. Not to mention you can do remote control family pictures with it too. it is RF, not IR, control, so you can keep it out of sight. It even works with the antenna down at close range, so you can keep it in your pocket and keep your hands warm on those cold nights at the telescope.

 "Excellent for the price." 2010-04-03
By TheBob
I've only had this for a week but have played around with it and I am pleased.

The separate shutter focus button is excellent. I hope I need it some time as I pre-focus.

The units are more solid than I expected. Try not to drop them but they are well made. They are small so very portable.

The receiver has a long enough cord so it does not have to hang or mount on the hot shoe (that is not a good mount for a remote). The receiver can set on the ground/table/rock etc or be attached to the tripod. A simple thing is to rubberband it to the camera strap.

The cable connection to the camera is tight and the right angle plug has a robust sleeve so cable pull- out should be a low concern. Still, don't hang electronics by the cable.

The unit has about a 1/2 second delay so action pics need to be anticipated. However, when holding the button the camer will continue to fire. A great surprise to me. Fantastic.

It has a bulb setting but the remote does not work with that. The receiver is a wired remote for such shots so this is more than a radio remote.

The switch on the receiver has a very subtle click. Off is in the Middle between bulb and wireless. But, the LED goes out when off so I can live with that. The instructions are sparse but contain everyting needed. I like the battery power indicator of 5 LEDs indicating 20% power each. The remote does not have one.

I'm pleased. I'll let you know if something shows up in time. Otherwise, consider this review holds.

"Making a Newbi look like a Pro!" 2010-03-22
By George J. Salis (New York City)
I was snapping pics. like a pro from day one. The product is user friendly and I don't even think of leaving the house without the remote when I pick up my camera now. No more running to catch the timer and choreograph the shot. My imagination has the remote trying to keep up with me because the options are endless. The remote is small and dark so it's easy to camo & the receiver has an LED flash so you can tell when you trigger. Knowing what I know now I can easily say this product can sell for double, YES double the price and not have you feeling you wish it cost less. Coming from someone who is thorough with his research before springing for the cash...

 "BAD PRODUCT" 2010-01-25
By THOMAS S. LEGARE
THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. THE RECEIVER WILL WORK THE SHUTTER, SOMETIMES. BUT, I MUST SOMETIMES EITHER PRESS THE BUTTON SEVERAL TIMES IN ORDER FOR IT TO ACTIVATE THE SHUTTER OR SOMETIMES HOLD IT DOWN FOR AS MUCH AS 20 SECONDS BEFORE IT WILL WORK. THE REMOTE DEVICE WILL NOT WORK AT ALL! IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THE DISTANCE IS BETWEEN THE CONTROL AND THE CAMERA. IT SIMPLY FAILS TO ACTIVATE THE SHUTTER. THAT IS WHY I GAVE IT NO STAR RATING, ALTHOUGH YOU FORCE ME TO GIVE IT AT LEAST A 1 STAR RATING SO I CAN SUBMIT THIS REVIEW.

I RECCOMEND THAT YOU DROP THIS ITEM FROM YOUR OFFERINGS.
