This wireless radio-controlled shutter release has a 300ft range with penetration through walls and allows selection of 1 to 16 channels to reduce RF interference. Supports partial shutter/AF & AE, continuous drive and bulb mode; bi-color LED on transmitter indicates partial and full shutter. Tiny receiver with power switch and auto power save, including 2 diagnostic LEDs: red for power on/off, and bi-color reflects transmitter action. Batteries included, with life of about 20,000 actions; transmitter battery: 23A (12V Alkaline); receiver battery: CR-2 (3V lithium). It was cheap enough I thought I could experiment. The unit is well made and works almost as well as I could wish. Pros: it works fine (I haven't tried to see how far it actually does work). Cons: there is a two-stage shutter button, but no tactile feel for it. A green LED comes on when button is 1/2 way down, and red LED when all the way down. Which means you have to take your eye off the subject if you use the 1/2 setting to refocus, re-establish exposure, etc. Uses CR2 battery. Definitely better than cable release. Chinese manufacture.

I was pleasantly surprised to get my RSR early, and also to see what a great model this was. I was on a budget and worried that I had to settle for something mediocre, but not at all!!!! Excited.
