$60-70 for a frikkin button? Really?!? That's what you'll pay for Nikon's MC30 that does the same thing as this model. Unless you HAVE TO HAVE the Nikon brand release due to OCD, this one will do the job just as well and save you some money for other stuff. The cord is 34" long. The button has a definite two-stage feel for focus and release. There is a lock for timed exposures so you can go get them fireworks and star-trails that every other photographer has in their collection. It is sturdily made. The 10-pin connector screws into place on your camera. My Nikon rigs: a D700 and an F5. Tested on both. Both work. Life is good.
